ZOOMIN EFFORTLESSLY ATTEMPTS TO INCREASE WIN STREAK IN REMINGTON PARK CHAMPIONSHIP

OKLAHOMA CITY – June 3, 2016 - The 2016 Remington Park American Quarter Horse Season has just two nights remaining with racing on Friday and Saturday, June 3 & 4. The $2,319,670 “Mega-Card” program will put the final touches on the season on Saturday with a special first race of 5pm.

The 12-race program on Saturday night, the wealthiest race date in Oklahoma horse racing, includes eight stakes events. The total purses for the night come in second to the all-time richest race card ever presented at Remington Park. The 2015-edition of the “Mega-Card” was worth $2,335,670.

The Grade 1, $1,083,420 Heritage Place Futurity is the richest of the eight stakes races on “Mega-Card” Saturday night at Remington Park. Perhaps the most prestigious event is the Grade 1, $250,000 Remington Park Championship at 440 yards. The race is for older runners and carries possible World Championship aspirations.

Zoomin Effortlessly is the morning-line favorite at 5-2 odds in the Remington Park Championship. The 5-year-old gelding, owned by Telesforo Perrett of Houston, has won seven consecutive races dating back to an allowance victory in May 2015 at Sam Houston Race Park. Trained by Rick Robinson, jockey Santos Carrizales will have his normal mount on the talented Texas-bred.

Already a winner of the Grade 1, $100,000 Leo Stakes on April 2 at Remington Park, Zoomin Effortlessly hopes to follow the same path taken by Dashin Brown Streak in 2015. Last year, Dashin Brown Streak was able to win both the Leo and then the Remington Park Championship, on his way to the local Horse of the Meeting title.

Zoomin Effortlessly easily won the Leo Stakes by 2-1/2 lengths, defeating Dashin Brown Streak (2nd), Bodacious Eagle (4th), Big Dashing Perry (5th), Rock You (7th) and Cobalt Creek (8th) in the event. All of them are back for another shot at Zoomin Effortlessly in the Remington Park Championship with six others to round out the field of 12.

Houdini is the lone millionaire in the race with career earnings of $1,173,324. JRC Callas First, the 2014 American Quarter Horse Association World Champion, has the most wins of any runner in the field with 17 lifetime victories. Houdini finished third in the 2015 Remington Park Championship with JRC Callas First finishing fourth in the race.

The Remington Park Championship field by post position and program number order, with trainer, jockey and morning-line odds:
