EXPANDED DRUG TESTING FOR OKLAHOMA FUTURITY AND DERBY IN 2018

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - August 25, 2017 - The nations oldest continuously run Futurity has undergone a major change in conditions for 2018.  The OQHRA Board of Directors, operating under the belief that there are many owners racing Quarter Horses that would prefer to participate in an Open to the World Futurity and Derby with stringent drug testing requirements, has implemented very stringent requirements for drug testing  in an effort to make the playing field as level as possible.    The Oklahoma Futurity and Derby are both open races and any horse is eligible to enter, the races are not restricted to Oklahoma bred horses.  There will be $100,000 added to each final.  There is also a $50,000 guaranteed juvenile for eligible futurity horses.
